Language and Literacy: We will start this term by focusing on the
book 'The Tiger who came to tea'. We will use this book as a focus
for our work and we will write invitations to our tea party. In
addition to this, we will begin to explain and discuss work we
have done, learn to answer questions in the correct way and
develop language through role play, yard games and a variety of
activities including ICT.
We will use the Tric a Chlic scheme to learn letters, focusing on
correct formation and developing reading skills.

activities in the classroom and outside and learning number
songs and rhymes. We will be concentrating on learning to
recognise numbers and their values, simple addition and
subtraction, sorting, describing and comparing temperatures,

independent, learn personal care habits, classroom rules, how to
work together and share and behave appropriately. Children will
also be taking part in ‘Saib a Symud’ (early yoga skills) and we
will be running the ‘Milltir Mawr,’ (‘Big Mile’) twice a week. We
will be concentrating on gymnastics, ball skills and simple team
games. Learning about a healthy diet, what is safe /dangerous

discuss different emotions and discuss school rules.
Humanities: Our theme is ‘The Tiger who came to tea’, therefore
we will be learning about different foods, where foods come from
and what foods grow in our school garden. We will also have the
opportunity to cook / bake foods.
We will also be learning about celebrations such as Harvest
Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Expressive Arts: The children will use different materials and
objects to make a variety of different models, using natural and
recycled materials as often as possible. We will also do craft
work related to tigers, bonfire night and Christmas.
In the music lessons we will learn and sing a range of songs and
rhymes with others and begin to play rhythmic patterns on a
variety of instruments and listen to different types of music.
